Amanda & Mark
The June 17, 2017, wedding of Amanda and Mark was picture perfect. Set at The Barn at Finley Point and beautifully captured by Marianne Wiest Photography, it is a wedding worthy of your Pinterest boards! The unique country details, bright color palette and beautiful Montana setting make this one a total eye-catcher.
The Proposal
It was on my second visit to see Mark in Wyoming when “it” happened. I was recovering from pneumonia and Mark wanted to take me to a waterfall in the Big Horn Mountains called Porcupine Falls. I didn't really feel up to it as I was still sick, but I agreed anyway. I was reading the informational board on Porcupine Falls, which said “DIFFICULT” ... not easy, not moderate, difficult. Oh boy. What is this man doing to me? I sucked it up and headed toward the descent with him. A few strapping young men were coming up the trail, extremely out of breath, huffing and puffing. My eyes got big and the young men couldn't even look up but they were muttering “have fun on the way up.” I was getting nervous. My legs basically shook going down the trail. But it was all worth it once we got to the waterfall. There's nothing quite like a waterfall in the mountains – every color pops, the sound is relaxing, and an overall sense of awe takes over your body. Before I knew it, Mark is on one knee, with a box in hand. Inside the box is the most exquisite ring I could have dreamed of: a custom engagement setting that is hand-engraved to emulate tooled western leather, and two turquoise accent stones. Hot dang! I hit the lottery ladies! Of course I said yes!
